macOS Share extension and Services menu entryNickSUMMARY I'd like to save to Muse from any Mac app, not just the browser. Muse currently ships only a Safari extension, so it doesn't appear in the macOS Share menu and offers no Services entry. USE CASES Finder: share images or PDFs directly into a collection. Photos: send a photo to Muse. Mail, Messages, Notes: share a link or a piece of text. Any app: select text, right-click → Services → "Save to Muse". EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR "Muse" appears in the macOS Share menu. The share sheet lets me pick a collection, add a note or tags, and save. A Services entry, "Save Selection to Muse", saves the selected text (with its source app or URL where available). Shared links get the same preview handling as links saved from the browser. ENVIRONMENT Muse 1.0.43 (73) · macOS 26.0Automatic Reply Nick, thanks for the idea—system-wide saving from any app makes a lot of sense, and we will definitely give this some thought.Cards view: website and product cards with real preview image, title and source (as shown on theodorehq.com)NickSUMMARY The Cards view on https://www.theodorehq.com/muse/ shows saved websites as cards with a preview image, the page title and the domain (see the "Inspiration" collection there: Logosystem, Recent, Good Habit, Jitter …). In the app I can't get this result. Saved pages appear either as text-only cards or with a full-page screenshot as preview, and image items show no title or source at all. I also can't find a view option that would switch to the layout from the website. CURRENT BEHAVIOUR (Muse 1.0.43) 1. Saving a page (Chrome extension or launcher "Save Current Page") creates a card that contains only the favicon, the domain and the title. There is no image, so it looks like a plain text box. Example: https://mellowclo.com/products/everyday-trouser-grey. The card shows "mellowclo.com" and "Everyday Trouser Grey – Mellow Clo", nothing else. Muse does store a page snapshot for this item (1280×1600 PNG), but the card doesn't show it. 2. When a snapshot is shown as the preview, it is a screenshot of the whole page, often covered by a cookie banner or a grey overlay (e.g. drmartens.com, bergzeit.de). 3. Image items in Cards view show only the picture: no title, no domain, no link to the source page, even when a source URL is set. A collection of product photos therefore looks like a plain image grid, unlike the cards on the website. 4. I can't find a setting or view option for the card layout from the website. The view controls may be in the "…" menu at the top right, which doesn't respond for me (separate bug report). EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR Every saved website or product appears as a card like on the website: preview image on top (the page's own image, not a full-page screenshot), title below, favicon and domain on the last line, for products, optionally a small price badge. This should work the same for links and for images that have a source URL. PROPOSED IMPLEMENTATION 1. Pick the preview image when saving a page, in this order: og:image / og:image:secureurl → twitter:image → schema.org JSON-LD "image" (Product, Article, WebPage) → → the largest image in the main content → last resort: a screenshot of the top of the page (first viewport only) with consent banners and overlays hidden. 2. Read this metadata in the Chrome extension, from the tab that is already open, at the moment of saving. Shops that block automated requests (e.g. decathlon.de returns 403) and pages behind a login still work that way. Send the result to the app together with the URL. 3. Also store, where available: og:title or schema name (cleaned, without the shop suffix), og:sitename, favicon. For schema.org Product: price, currency, brand. 4. Keep both images: the page image as the card preview and the full screenshot as a secondary view in the detail panel. 5. Give image items with a source URL the same footer (title, favicon, domain), or offer a view option "Show title and source on cards". 6. Make the Cards layout easy to find: a visible layout switch in the collection header and a "View" menu in the menu bar (e.g. View → as Cards / Moodboard / List). 7. For links that are already saved: re-fetch the preview with the new logic, either in the background or via "Refresh preview" in the item's context menu. ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA Saving https://mellowclo.com/products/everyday-trouser-grey shows the product photo, the title "Everyday Trouser Grey" and "mellowclo.com" on the card. Saving a homepage such as https://recent.design shows its og:image (or a clean top-of-page screenshot), the title and the domain, as in the website's "Inspiration" example. Pages without og:image fall back down the chain. A cookie banner never ends up as the preview. Image items with a source URL show the title and domain in Cards view, or a documented option turns this on. The layout can be switched without the "…" menu. WHY IT MATTERS I save tools, inspiration sources and products I want to buy. For all three I need to see at a glance what the item is and where it comes from, the way the website presents it. Happy to send screenshots by email if that helps. ENVIRONMENT Muse 1.0.43 (73) · Chrome extension 1.1.0 · macOS 26.0 · MacBook Pro M3 MaxSupport Team Nick, thanks for letting us know about this and for the detailed breakdown of what's not working versus what you're seeing on the website. We've got this on our radar and we're looking into it, so we'll post any updates here as we have them.open source URL from the tile title in Board viewNickWhen titles are enabled in Board view, items with a source URL show their page/product title in the title bar. On hover over that title bar, it would be great to show a small button on the right (the usual arrow-up-right "open link" icon) that opens the source URL in the default browser. Only shown when the item has a source URL. Use case: I keep a wishlist of products saved as images with their shop link. I save things there instead of buying them right away. It helps me avoid impulse purchases and gets them out of my head. When I do come back to buy something, getting from the board straight to the shop in one click would make that much smoother. Related: my other request about recognising product data (e.g. from schema.org markup). If Muse picks up the price, it could sit in the same title bar as a small pill before the title: neutral styling, tabular figures, no sale colours. The title truncates first, the pill stays visible, and the right side stays free for the hover link button. Without a price the bar looks as it does today. https://support.theodorehq.com/muse/features/muse-feature-0007/Automatic Reply Nick, thanks for putting this forward, especially with such a clear picture of how you'd use it. We'll give it some thought and post any update here if we have news on it.Trackpad gestures for the full-screen previewNickI'd like to close the full-screen view of an item with a trackpad gesture instead of reaching for Esc. Pinch-in to close, as in Photos and Quick Look, would feel native on the Mac, and a two-finger swipe left/right could move to the previous or next item. This would be an big quality of life improvement.Automatic Reply Nick, thanks for the suggestion around trackpad gestures in the full-screen preview, we will definitely take a look at how that could work in Muse. The pinch-to-close and swipe navigation patterns you mention make a lot of sense, and we'll post any updates here if we have news on it.Tags - SuggestionsCommunityWhen you add tags while saving something or in the Info panel, Muse suggests the tags you have already made, so you can pick one from a list instead of typing it again.Show notes on cardsMarcelaHi there! I have ADHD and sometimes struggle with remembering why I saved something. Would it be possible to have the option to make notes visible on the cards? Love the app, this has been the only visual bookmark that even comes close to working on the same wavelength as my brain. The only thing stopping me from buying it is the ability to see my notes at a glance. Please let me know if you end up adding this so I can purchase the app immediately. Hope this was helpful and not too annoying! Thanks again and have a lovely day! Best, MarcelaAutomatic Reply Marcela, thanks for putting this forward and for sharing how you work, it really helps us understand what would make Muse work better for you. We'll give it some thought and post any updates here if we have news on it.Emoji - Inline ShortcutsTheodore HQSet a trigger key of your choosing (say ; or /) and type a word after it to drop the matching emoji straight into your text, so ;smile becomes a smiley without opening the system picker or leaving the keyboard. Charm would match the word against emoji names, so the everyday ones land on the obvious face or symbol, and you could keep typing without breaking flow.Support Team Emoji Shortcuts arrived in Charm 1.0.71. Turn them on in Settings > General > Emoji Shortcuts. Then type a semicolon followed by a word, like ;smile, and choose from the list with the arrow keys, Tab or Return. You can pick a different starting key beside the switch: a colon, two semicolons or two colons. Charm should offer you the update itself. If not, open Settings and check for updates. Any other questions or feedback, just get back in touch and let us know. How to save an email?andreaHi, I'd love to save an email without the fuss of pdf conversion, is there a way?Automatic Reply Andrea, we appreciate the heads up on this workflow piece, and we're looking into it now. We'll post an update here as soon as we have something to share.Before/After Time SettingsDorenJust purchased! Love it! But how do I set it for 2 hours before/after time? How do I set a custom before/after time? Thanks!Automatic Reply Doren, we're looking into how we can make the before/after time settings clearer, thanks for flagging that. We'll post an update here once we have something to share.Still not doing a very good job in auto correct...ben SpinkTypo sentence: Just an FYI...eveyrhting has been good and stable. No mor epwoer outages, just the one of them doing an update without notifyign me. So system finally is feelign stable. After correction with option-cmd-v: Just an everything has been good and stable. Nom or ephor outages, just the one of them doing an update without notifying me. So system finally is feeling stable. So it removed my FYI which was important for the sentence, and the ... pause, and destroyed the wording on "no more power"...taking me 4x the time to proofread the "fix" and ultimately give up.Support Team Ben, That before-and-after is genuinely helpful. The latest update (1.0.57) is live and improves the exact things you ran into: Your "FYI" and the "..." pause are now kept exactly as you wrote them, instead of getting pulled into the next word. "No more" stays as you typed it. And Charm reads dense, typo-heavy passages more accurately across the board, so there's far less to proofread afterwards. On "power" specifically: when a word is scrambled as far as "epwoer" was, the correction can land on the nearest real word rather than the one you actually meant. Two things help there now: The on-device model catches a lot more of these, and it's ready faster when you reach for Fix Selection. New in this update: Charm learns the word you mean. If it ever picks the wrong one, just fix it to what you intended and Charm remembers, so next time it gives you your word. You can see everything it has learned in Settings, under Personal. Grab the update (Charm checks automatically, or hit Check for Updates in the menu) and give that sentence another go, I think you'll find it a lot smoother.Fixing the "space" between words where the timing is off by milliseconds making the two words completely wrong because of one letter...ben SpinkMy moot common mistake is the last two character sin a word, or the space at the end of the word as I start the next word. it's not that I don't know how to spell, it that I type fast and frequently make these kdins of com on typos. A human cna quickly and easily identify what I did...but spelling tools fail miserably...including Charm which I was hoping wouldn't. Typing to an AI bot, fully dunesands me with never any issue, and I can be lazy typing. But Charm's AI fails completely to understand these common typos.Original:My msot ocmmon mistake is the last two character sin a word, or the space at the end of the word as I start the enxt word. its not that i don't know how to spell, it sthat I type fast and frequently make these kdins of comon typos. Typing to an AI bot fully dunerstnads me with never any issue and I can be alzy typeing. But Charm's AI fails compeltely to udnerstand these common typos.Support Team Thanks for such a detailed write-up, it genuinely shaped what we built. The latest update (1.0.54, out now via Check for Updates) improves exactly the kind of fast-typing slips you described: Transposed letters where the closest spelling isn't the right word (your "msot" landing on the wrong word): Charm now weighs the whole sentence and picks the word that actually fits. Mistimed spaces that split or join two words ("character sin" for "characters in", "com on" for "common", "it sthat" for "its that"): Charm now repairs these. Two quick notes: these are strongest with Fix Selection (select your text and press Option-Command-V), which is also how Charm works in web browsers and Electron apps. And a few very heavily scrambled words may still slip through, which is the next thing on our list. Any other questions, please let us know. Thank you.Form fillAndrea JM Von EugenHi, e.g address typing in forms, is there a way to action this possibly?Support Team Charm can already do this, using Text Replacement. It lets you set a short shortcut that expands into any longer text you like, such as your full address. How to set it up: 1- Open Charm's Settings and go to Personal, then Replacements. 2- Add a shortcut (for example addr) and set its expansion to your full address. 3- Now, in any app including web forms, type addr and Charm expands it to the whole address. This works in normal form fields just like anywhere else. The only spots Charm deliberately leaves alone are password fields and the browser's address bar, so your saved snippets are there when you need them. Add as many as you like (email, phone, a standard signature), all kept on your Mac. Give it a go and let us know how you get on?AI ModelsMark AllenSome of us have Macs with loads of memory and can handle larger AI models. Consider offering these.Support Team Thanks for the feedback. We've actually trialled some of the larger on-device models, and the interesting result was that the jump in correction quality turned out to be small, not enough to justify the extra memory and load they ask of your Mac. So for now we've deliberately kept Charm on the lighter models to keep it fast for everyone, including people on more modest machines. That said, this is something we watch closely. As newer models arrive that are both more capable and efficient, we'll fold the good ones in for sure, and we'll keep evaluating as the on-device model landscape moves. If a bigger model ever clearly earns its place on quality, it'll make it into Charm. Thanks for taking the time to suggest it.Request for omitting browser input tabAndrea JM Von EugenRather than set to manual - is it possible to set to never complete in search bar/ browser input area? tySupport Team Andrea, great suggestion, the latest update (1.0.51) does exactly this. Charm now works only on the text you're actually writing and stays completely out of the browser's address and search bar, so it won't touch what you type there. Thanks for raising it.Stops functionality in VivaldiAndrea JM Von EugenI allowed this to work in said browser - it stops links from loading. Also misses easy spelling mistakes too many timesSupport Team Andrea, the latest update (1.0.51) makes Charm much gentler on browsers, so the sluggishness you saw in Vivaldi should be greatly improved (it shares a root cause with the CPU change). On the missed corrections: inside Chromium-based browsers like Vivaldi, the most reliable way to correct text is Charm's Fix Selection, just select the text and press Option-Command-F. Charm now switches to that mode automatically in those browsers and lets you know when it does, so your corrections land accurately without getting in the way of the page.Doesn't work.Eric EApp is installed, permissions set, app is running, "spells" and "polish" are both on. It doesn't seem to work...anywhere (at least not the two places I've tried it...browser (Vivaldi) and in Apple mail).Support Team Lets get this working for you. When Charm isn't correcting in every app at once, it's almost always just a quick permissions toggle rather than anything wrong, so this should be a fast one to sort. Charm needs two macOS permissions to read and correct text. After an app update, macOS sometimes quietly switches these off even though they still look enabled, so the reliable fix is to remove and re-add them: 1. Reset the two permissions Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security. Go to Accessibility: if Charm is listed, select it and click the minus (–) button to remove it. Go to Input Monitoring and do the same. Quit Charm completely (click the menu bar icon, then Quit), and reopen it. Charm will prompt you to grant both again. Approve them, and toggle each switch fully on. 2. Check Charm is active Click the Charm icon in the menu bar and make sure the status shows it's running and that Spelling (Spells) is switched on. 3. Make sure neither app is blocked In Charm's settings, under the per-app rules, check that Vivaldi and Apple Mail aren't set to have spelling turned off. A reliable fallback in any app: manual Fix Selection Some apps, browsers especially, don't always allow Charm to rewrite text instantly and invisibly as you type, because of how they handle their text fields internally. For those moments there's a manual mode that works everywhere: just select the text you want cleaned up and press Option + Command + V. Charm polishes the selection on the spot, spelling and grammar in one go. It's a great safety net for any app where automatic correction can't apply changes live, and many people end up using it deliberately on longer messages so they stay in full control of when corrections happen. If that shortcut clashes with something you already use, you can change it: open Charm's settings and set Fix Selection to any key combination you like. One quick test that helps me a lot: after the steps above, type a deliberately misspelled word (like "teh") in Apple Notes or TextEdit. If it corrects there but not in Vivaldi or Mail, that tells me it's app-specific and I'll dig in further. If it doesn't correct anywhere, it's still a permissions thing and we'll get it sorted. Either way, Fix Selection (Option + Command + V) will work in the meantime. Let me know how you get on? Thanks.Hi is it possible for me to add this feature to my apple mail under customise option? ThanksPri KalupahanaHi is it possible for me to enable this in ASupport Team Hello - Yes absolutely. If you go into Customise, you can add 'Apple Mail', then turn on manual mode, then select which features you want to use. Any other questions, please let me know! Thanks.little thingsMichałHi, please add the time in 24-hour format and translations into a few more languages. Other than that, the app is great. Thank you for creating it.Support Team Hi there. Thanks for getting in touch. I can certainly add the 24‑hour format. I’ll put that on the roadmap. We also have a few translations on the way too.Emoji replacement / global selection configOJWould be great1. Global toggle for the options applies to all apps - for example, disable emoji replacement for all apps by single toggle (and selectively enable some apps if needed)2. Would be greats emoji replacement offers tooltip-like selection for candidates (cotypist does this) instead of direct replacement2.1 For some app (Slack) emoji replacement cannot be reverted by backspace for some reason.Support Team OJ - Thanks for the feedback! Some great suggestions, especially the global toggles per feature. I’ll start working on those next week. If you're having any issues with the backspace reverts, just try Command +Z, which should do the trick for you. Any other questions or issues, just let me know!Option to change "Toggle" keyboard shortcutMatthew EDefault keyboard shortcut Cmd-Shift-D overlaps with Mail's Send Message shortcut as well as the Go To Desktop shortcut in the system Open/Save File dialog boxes.Support Team Hi Matthew! You should have the ability to change the keyboard shortcut by just pressing on the current option. It should then allow you to change to whatever shortcut you'd prefer. Please give this a go and let me know if you encounter any issues?
