Live Mac Activity on iPhone Lock Screen and Dynamic IslandiPhoneNuman MalikI’d love to see Muse support Live Activities on iPhone that mirror what Muse is currently doing on my Mac. The idea is, when Muse is performing a background task on my Mac, I’d like my iPhone to display that activity in real time through the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island. For example, Working: Muse is checking watched folders. Processing: Muse is importing, tagging or organising files. Syncing: Muse is sending new items to iCloud. Completed: The task has finished. Error: Something needs attention. Ideally, tapping the Live Activity would open Muse on my iPhone. Why this matters is because I use Muse across my Mac and iPhone with the same iCloud library. I would love to know what Muse is doing on my Mac without having to keep checking my computer. This would make Muse feel like a genuinely connected Apple ecosystem experience. Please consider adding this feature. I think it would be an excellent productivity improvement.Automatic Reply Numan, thanks for the request about bringing Mac activity updates to your iPhone's lock screen and Dynamic Island. We've got it on record and will post any news here if there's something to share.Nov 3Under ReviewLibrary - PDF ReaderMacCommunityRead every page of a saved PDF in Muse on your Mac, with scrolling and zoom, the way the iPhone and iPad app opens the full document. Search could cover every page too.Nov 2CompletedLibrary LocationMacAerthThe library location should be an option when you create it, and it should be a possibility to move it to another location afterward. Defaulting to the local disk seems restrictive today.Automatic Reply Aerth, we've got your request about library locations and really appreciate you putting it forward. We'll post any updates here if there's news on it.Nov 2Under ReviewLayout - Landscape on iPhoneiPhoneCommunityUse Muse for iPhone in landscape as well as portrait.Support Team Landscape on iPhone is on its way. We expect it over the next week or so as a free update through the App Store.Nov 2PlannedAppearance - Background Colours in Dark ModeMacCommunityKeep your chosen background colours when your Mac switches to dark mode.Nov 2Under ReviewImport from mymindMacRob HardyWould love to be able to import everything I've ever saved into mymind and never have to pay that subscription again.Automatic Reply Rob, thanks for taking the time to suggest importing from mymind, we've got it and will let you know if there's any news on it here.Nov 1CompletedOptimize Mac Storage - keep video originals in iCloud, download on open / on demandMacNickI save a lot of Instagram reels to Muse. Since every video is stored in full in the Muse Library, it grows quickly (mine is at [X GB] already). Muse already has most of the pieces: with Full-Size Pictures on, originals live in my iCloud, and the iPhone app only fetches an original when I open it, keeps ~500 MB and clears the least recently opened first. I'd love the same on the Mac – like "Optimize Mac Storage" in Apple Photos: Thumbnails, poster frames, metadata, tags, notes and the search index stay local, so boards and search look and work the same Originals not opened for a while (or above a storage budget I set) are removed locally and fetched from iCloud when I open them Optionally limit it to videos or to specific collections, with "Keep downloaded" for collections I need offline A small cloud badge on offloaded items, plus how much space is used and freed Local-first stays the default and only my own iCloud is used, so it fits how Muse already works. Moving the library to an external drive helps, but isn't practical on a laptop.Automatic Reply Nick, thanks for taking the time to suggest this approach to managing video storage on Mac, we will definitely give it some thought. It sounds like you've thought through how it could work with what's already there, and we will post any update here if we have news on it.Oct 30Under ReviewiPad optimizationiPhoneNickI want to use Muse also on my iPad for the creative work and the app is currently portrait-only. I use a 13" iPad with Apple Pencil. What would make it great: Landscape and full-screen boards that use the space like the Mac app does (multi-column moodboard, cards, list) The same on-demand originals as on iPhone, since iPads often have little storage (Links to other feature request earlier) Even a first step – the app running on iPad in landscape with a wider layout – would already help a lot. Thanks!Support Team Nick, An iPad version of Muse with landscape and full-screen layouts is already built and is with Apple for review right now. Once it's approved, it will arrive as a free update to the Muse app you already have, so there's nothing new to download. We'll post here as soon as it's available.Oct 30CompletedIn-app viewing of web pagesMacChrisWhen I'm using Muse to browse through things I've saved, it would be great to be able to view the web page within Muse. Raindrop did support this, and promotes easier reading of saved articles and information -- also good for Muse as we spend more time in the app.Automatic Reply Chris, thanks for the request. We can see how having that built into Muse would make it easier to stay in one place while you're going through what you've saved, and we'll give it some thought. If there's any news on it we'll post an update here.Oct 25Under ReviewAdd a note when savingMacandrea van EugenAdd a note when savingAutomatic Reply Andrea, thanks for putting this forward, we will definitely take a look at how notes on save might work for Muse and we'll post any updates here if we have news on it.Oct 22CompletedMenubar app & Show / Hide Dock AppMacKarenIt's easier for me when using a windows switcher to not have the app show. This will require a menubar app . I t's more of a personal accessibility for me but not something I expect If this is possible i get if not. I searched for dock and got nothing I apologize if it's already a request Have a great day night wherever you are Thank you KarenAutomatic Reply Karen, we appreciate the request and will definitely take a look at whether a menubar option could work for your workflow. We'll post back here if we have any news on it.Oct 17CompletedShow sync status when importing Instagram saves via the Chrome extensionMacNickProblem When I open my Instagram saved posts, either directly or through the link in the Muse Chrome extension, I don’t get any feedback on what Muse is doing. There’s no sign that it’s syncing, how many new saves it picked up, or whether it finished. So I don’t know how long to keep the tab open, and I end up checking the Muse app by hand to see if anything came in. Current behavior Opening instagram.com/…/saved shows nothing from Muse, neither on the page nor in the extension I can’t tell whether a sync started, is still running, finished or failed Expected behavior Some clear feedback for each sync state: Syncing: a small, unobtrusive indicator on the Instagram page (e.g. a toast in a corner), plus a badge or spinner on the extension icon. Example: “Muse is syncing your saves… 8 new” Done: “Synced 12 new saves” with a link to open in Muse. It should also say when nothing new was found: “Up to date, no new saves” Failed / blocked: a clear message if the sync didn’t work (not logged in, rate limit, page structure changed), with a retry option Extension popup: time of the last sync and how many items it imported Why it matters Instagram saves are one of my main ways to get references into Muse. Without feedback I keep it open longer than needed. A visible status would make me trust the import enough to stop checking it by hand.Automatic Reply Nick, thanks for putting this forward, we can see how helpful it'd be to get some clear signals about what's happening when you're syncing your Instagram saves through the extension. We'll give this some thought and let you know if we have any updates to share here.Oct 14CompletedBrowser Save Dialog - make Save button clickableMacRob WestSince most of the time I am right-clicking a page to save it to Muse, my hand is already on the mouse. I'm a keyboard shortcut believer, but I have to lift my hand for this (boo hoo) and it seems contrary to the spirit of keep your hands on the input device thinking that contributes to efficiency. It would be great to have the option to click "Save" or "Cancel" with my mouse, in other words.Automatic Reply Rob, thanks for the idea about making those buttons mouse-clickable in the save dialog. We'll give it some thought and post any updates here if we have news on it.Oct 8CompletedTags ViewMacRob WestAny plans to incorporate a way to see a list of active tags and then filter to these by clicking them?Automatic Reply Rob, thanks for sending this idea over, we think a tags view could be really useful and we'll definitely give it some thought. We'll post an update here if anything comes of it.Oct 8Under ReviewmacOS Share extension and Services menu entryMacNickSUMMARY I'd like to save to Muse from any Mac app, not just the browser. Muse currently ships only a Safari extension, so it doesn't appear in the macOS Share menu and offers no Services entry. USE CASES Finder: share images or PDFs directly into a collection. Photos: send a photo to Muse. Mail, Messages, Notes: share a link or a piece of text. Any app: select text, right-click → Services → "Save to Muse". EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR "Muse" appears in the macOS Share menu. The share sheet lets me pick a collection, add a note or tags, and save. A Services entry, "Save Selection to Muse", saves the selected text (with its source app or URL where available). Shared links get the same preview handling as links saved from the browser. ENVIRONMENT Muse 1.0.43 (73) · macOS 26.0Automatic Reply Nick, thanks for the idea. System-wide saving from any app makes a lot of sense, and we will definitely give this some thought.Oct 2CompletediPhone app: how will saving from the phone reach the Mac library?MacNickI'm looking forward to the iPhone app announced for Q4. My main use would be saving from the iPhone share sheet (Instagram, Safari, screenshots) and finding it on the Mac later. Since Muse has no sync today: how will items saved on the iPhone get into the Mac library? Two options that would keep "no account, no cloud" intact: 1. CloudKit sync in the user's private iCloud database (the developer can't see the data). 2. As a first step: an iCloud Drive inbox folder. The iPhone app saves into it and the Mac app imports and files new items automatically. Either would be fine for me. Saving from the phone matters more to me than browsing on it.Automatic Reply Nick, we really appreciate you laying out the request so clearly, and we'll definitely take a look at how phone-to-Mac syncing could work within our no-account approach. Your two options give us some solid directions to think through, so thanks for that detail. We'll post any updates here if we have news on it.Oct 2CompletedCards view: website and product cards with real preview image, title and source (as shown on theodorehq.com)MacNickSUMMARY The Cards view on https://www.theodorehq.com/muse/ shows saved websites as cards with a preview image, the page title and the domain (see the "Inspiration" collection there: Logosystem, Recent, Good Habit, Jitter …). In the app I can't get this result. Saved pages appear either as text-only cards or with a full-page screenshot as preview, and image items show no title or source at all. I also can't find a view option that would switch to the layout from the website. CURRENT BEHAVIOUR (Muse 1.0.43) 1. Saving a page (Chrome extension or launcher "Save Current Page") creates a card that contains only the favicon, the domain and the title. There is no image, so it looks like a plain text box. Example: https://mellowclo.com/products/everyday-trouser-grey. The card shows "mellowclo.com" and "Everyday Trouser Grey – Mellow Clo", nothing else. Muse does store a page snapshot for this item (1280×1600 PNG), but the card doesn't show it. 2. When a snapshot is shown as the preview, it is a screenshot of the whole page, often covered by a cookie banner or a grey overlay (e.g. drmartens.com, bergzeit.de). 3. Image items in Cards view show only the picture: no title, no domain, no link to the source page, even when a source URL is set. A collection of product photos therefore looks like a plain image grid, unlike the cards on the website. 4. I can't find a setting or view option for the card layout from the website. The view controls may be in the "…" menu at the top right, which doesn't respond for me (separate bug report). EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR Every saved website or product appears as a card like on the website: preview image on top (the page's own image, not a full-page screenshot), title below, favicon and domain on the last line, for products, optionally a small price badge. This should work the same for links and for images that have a source URL. PROPOSED IMPLEMENTATION 1. Pick the preview image when saving a page, in this order: og:image / og:image:secureurl → twitter:image → schema.org JSON-LD "image" (Product, Article, WebPage) → → the largest image in the main content → last resort: a screenshot of the top of the page (first viewport only) with consent banners and overlays hidden. 2. Read this metadata in the Chrome extension, from the tab that is already open, at the moment of saving. Shops that block automated requests (e.g. decathlon.de returns 403) and pages behind a login still work that way. Send the result to the app together with the URL. 3. Also store, where available: og:title or schema name (cleaned, without the shop suffix), og:sitename, favicon. For schema.org Product: price, currency, brand. 4. Keep both images: the page image as the card preview and the full screenshot as a secondary view in the detail panel. 5. Give image items with a source URL the same footer (title, favicon, domain), or offer a view option "Show title and source on cards". 6. Make the Cards layout easy to find: a visible layout switch in the collection header and a "View" menu in the menu bar (e.g. View → as Cards / Moodboard / List). 7. For links that are already saved: re-fetch the preview with the new logic, either in the background or via "Refresh preview" in the item's context menu. ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA Saving https://mellowclo.com/products/everyday-trouser-grey shows the product photo, the title "Everyday Trouser Grey" and "mellowclo.com" on the card. Saving a homepage such as https://recent.design shows its og:image (or a clean top-of-page screenshot), the title and the domain, as in the website's "Inspiration" example. Pages without og:image fall back down the chain. A cookie banner never ends up as the preview. Image items with a source URL show the title and domain in Cards view, or a documented option turns this on. The layout can be switched without the "…" menu. WHY IT MATTERS I save tools, inspiration sources and products I want to buy. For all three I need to see at a glance what the item is and where it comes from, the way the website presents it. Happy to send screenshots by email if that helps. ENVIRONMENT Muse 1.0.43 (73) · Chrome extension 1.1.0 · macOS 26.0 · MacBook Pro M3 MaxSupport Team Nick, thanks for letting us know about this and for the detailed breakdown of what's not working versus what you're seeing on the website. We've got this on our radar and we're looking into it, so we'll post any updates here as we have them.Oct 2CompletedTitle: Muse Vision for a whole collection – "More like this" at the end of a boardMacNickWhat I'd love Muse Vision already finds similar images on the web for one item. I'd like to run it on a whole collection or a multi-selection and get more items with the same vibe. Example: I keep a poster collection and want to find more posters that fit it, without searching image by image. How it could look A setting per collection, "At the end of this collection", with three options: Off (default), Show suggestions, Button only. When I scroll to the end, a clear separator appears ("More like this collection"). Below it, suggestions load in batches of about 20, marked as not saved yet (source badge, slightly dimmed). If the collection has several sub-vibes, suggestions come in groups ("more like these 6", "more like these 4"), and I can mute a group. Each suggestion has three actions: Keep (saves it into this collection), Not this (hides it and steers the next batch away) and Open source. A small hint shows why it was suggested, e.g. "same look, similar palette, matches 'poster'". Also available as a command: right-click a collection, select several items, or mark part of an image (e.g. only the typography) and choose "Find more like these". What it should match on Not only the look. Muse already knows more about every item: Look: the on-device image embedding. Colour: the dominant palette, with an optional "keep this palette" switch. Topic: tags, titles, notes, text found in images and the collection name. Form: portrait or landscape, photo, illustration or type-heavy. A per-collection control "Match on" with Look, Colour, Topic and Form (toggles or sliders) makes it work for very different boards. A poster wall wants look and form, a clothing wishlist wants topic and colour. Sources The web, through the same path Muse Vision uses today. Those results already carry the crowd knowledge of the web, and Muse re-ranks them locally with the signals above. Optional per collection: open archives with public APIs, e.g. Openverse, Internet Archive, Library of Congress and museum open-access collections. Why it still fits Muse It's not a feed, and no algorithm decides what I see. It only runs when I turn it on for a collection or ask for it, starts from my own saves, explains each suggestion, and nothing is saved until I keep it. Opt-in like Muse Vision today, with a short note on what gets sent. Implementation idea Group the collection's image embeddings into a few clusters and use a real item per cluster (the medoid, not an average) as the query image. Pinterest's PinnerSage does the same for multi-interest recommendations, because averages drift away from what the user actually saved. For keyword-only sources, build short queries from the clusters plus tags, colour words and image text, then re-rank the results locally. Score each result as a weighted mix of look, palette distance, topic overlap and form. The weights come from the "Match on" control and get nudged by Keep and Not this. Skip anything already in the library, keep the results varied and cache them per collection. Something like this would be very helpful for me and it would extend on the existing Muse Vision we already got.Automatic Reply Nick, thanks for putting this request forward with so much thoughtful detail. We really appreciate it. We'll give it a look and see how it might fit into what we're building, and we'll post any updates here if we have news on it.Oct 2Under Reviewopen source URL from the tile title in Board viewMacNickWhen titles are enabled in Board view, items with a source URL show their page/product title in the title bar. On hover over that title bar, it would be great to show a small button on the right (the usual arrow-up-right "open link" icon) that opens the source URL in the default browser. Only shown when the item has a source URL. Use case: I keep a wishlist of products saved as images with their shop link. I save things there instead of buying them right away. It helps me avoid impulse purchases and gets them out of my head. When I do come back to buy something, getting from the board straight to the shop in one click would make that much smoother. Related: my other request about recognising product data (e.g. from schema.org markup). If Muse picks up the price, it could sit in the same title bar as a small pill before the title: neutral styling, tabular figures, no sale colours. The title truncates first, the pill stays visible, and the right side stays free for the hover link button. Without a price the bar looks as it does today. https://support.theodorehq.com/muse/features/muse-feature-0007/Automatic Reply Nick, thanks for putting this forward, especially with such a clear picture of how you'd use it. We'll give it some thought and post any update here if we have news on it.Oct 2CompletedSuggest my own tags for new and existing itemsMacNickFrom what I can see, Muse's automatic tags are generic object labels (people, structure, wood processed). They help with search, but they don't match how I organise my library (landing-page, typography, red-black, linework). Idea: let Muse learn from the items I've already tagged and suggest those tags for other items that look similar. Find Similar already returns neighbours that mostly share my tags, so it seems the groundwork might already be there — but you'll know best what's feasible. Where it would help: New items as they come in A selection of items (e.g. right-click → "Suggest tags") A whole collection, or all items without any of my own tags How I'd like it to work: Suggestions first, in a review step: accept all, accept per item, or dismiss Optional auto-apply per tag, with a threshold I can set Available via the local API / MCP as wellAutomatic Reply Nick, thanks for taking the time to put this together, it's really thoughtful. We can see how having suggestions based on your own tagging system would be way more useful than generic labels, and we'll definitely give it some thought. We'll post here if we have any news on it.Oct 2Under ReviewProduct cards for shop links (product image, price, brand)MacNickWhen I save a product page, the card shows a screenshot of the whole page, often with a cookie banner or overlay, instead of the product. Most shops provide the product image and price in their page metadata (og:image, schema.org Product). Suggestion: detect product pages and use the product image as the card image, with a small price badge and the shop or brand below the title. This could happen automatically for product links, or sit behind a setting like "Show product cards". The price at the time of saving is enough. A reference is attached.Automatic Reply Nick, thanks for putting the request forward with such clear thinking about how it could work. We'll give this some thought and let you know here if we have any news on it.Oct 1Under ReviewRicher detail view for saved links and productsMacNickWhen I open a saved product link, I see the page screenshot. For products it would help to see the product image large, a clear "Open in shop" button, and a few facts from the page: price, brand and the short description from the page's meta tags. I don't need the full page text, just enough to decide without opening the browser.Automatic Reply Nick, thanks for the idea. Seeing richer detail on saved products without having to jump into the browser would definitely be useful. We'll give this some thought and post any updates here if we have news on it.Oct 1Under ReviewTrackpad gestures for the full-screen previewMacNickI'd like to close the full-screen view of an item with a trackpad gesture instead of reaching for Esc. Pinch-in to close, as in Photos and Quick Look, would feel native on the Mac, and a two-finger swipe left/right could move to the previous or next item. This would be an big quality of life improvement.Automatic Reply Nick, thanks for the suggestion around trackpad gestures in the full-screen preview, we will definitely take a look at how that could work in Muse. The pinch-to-close and swipe navigation patterns you mention make a lot of sense, and we'll post any updates here if we have news on it.Oct 1CompletedNotes - Markdown FormattingMacCommunityWrite notes with Markdown, so a note can carry bold and italic text, lists and links, and shows them formatted on the card and in the Info panel. Suggested alongside notes on cards.Support Team Thank you for asking for this, and thank you, Erik, for explaining why it matters. Muse 1.0.49 brings formatting to your notes. Select words and press Cmd-B, Cmd-I or Cmd-U for bold, italic and underline, or Cmd-K to add a link. To start a list, type a dash and a space. For a checklist, type [ ] and a space, and for a heading, type and a space. While you write, a row of buttons above the note does all of this too, so there's nothing to memorise. Your formatting shows on your cards and in the Info panel. Muse for iPhone will show it too in its next update, which is on its way. Muse should ask you to update automatically, and if not, you can choose Muse > Check for Updates from the menu at the top of your screen. Any other issues or feedback, please just get back in touch and let us know.Sep 21CompletedTags - SuggestionsMacCommunityWhen you add tags while saving something or in the Info panel, Muse suggests the tags you have already made, so you can pick one from a list instead of typing it again.Sep 15CompletedShow notes on cardsMacMarcelaHi there! I have ADHD and sometimes struggle with remembering why I saved something. Would it be possible to have the option to make notes visible on the cards? Love the app, this has been the only visual bookmark that even comes close to working on the same wavelength as my brain. The only thing stopping me from buying it is the ability to see my notes at a glance. Please let me know if you end up adding this so I can purchase the app immediately. Hope this was helpful and not too annoying! Thanks again and have a lovely day!
