Buttons don't respond: +, search, "…" and the side panel's close button

BugMacCompletedReport This Post

Several buttons in the main window don't react to clicks:

1. The +, search and "…" buttons at the top of the sidebar. Nothing opens and there's no visual feedback.
2. When a side panel is open (e.g. "Vision Engine"), its close button (X) at the top right does nothing either, so the panel can't be closed with a click.

While clicking, the system log shows this SwiftUI runtime warning repeatedly, roughly once per click:
"[SwiftUI] Publishing changes from within view updates is not allowed, this will cause undefined behavior."
It might be related: state changes made during a view update can get dropped, which would explain why the clicks have no effect.

Nick, thanks for taking the time to write in with such clear detail around those unresponsive buttons, we're looking into this right now. That SwiftUI warning you spotted is a really helpful clue, and we'll get an update posted here once we know more.

Nick, the latest update makes every button along the top of the window respond on macOS 26.

The +, search and "…" buttons and every panel's close button now answer every click. If you ever clicked one and nothing happened, this update resolves that.

Muse should automatically ask you if you'd like to update, and if not, you can open Settings and check for updates.

Any other issues or feedback, please just get back in touch and let us know.
