Auto-Pause Your Way
A new setting chooses what happens when you start something new.
- Keep Your Music Playing. A new setting in Settings > Playback > Auto-Pause chooses what happens when you start something new. Always pauses what's playing, Except Music keeps your music going while you watch a video or listen to a podcast, and Never leaves everything playing.
- Music Plays Through Previews. Hovering over a video preview leaves your music playing. A video you click play on still pauses it straight away.
- More Browsers. Echo now recognises Zen, Helium, LibreWolf, Waterfox and Floorp. If you ever noticed your music pausing when a video started in one of these, this update resolves that.

Echo in Safari
Echo's browser extension now works in Safari.
- Safari Support. Echo's browser extension now works in Safari. It comes with the app: open Safari > Settings > Extensions, switch Echo on, and allow it on every website. Safari 18.4 or later.
- All Your Browsers in Settings. Chrome, Firefox and Safari now sit side by side in Settings > Browsers, one click each.
- Better With More Than One Browser. Using Echo's extension in two browsers? Each video now resumes in the browser it came from, and Safari and Firefox come to the front as reliably as Chrome.
- Floating Player Polish. The Now Playing card always shows the floating player's own time and state.

Drag Settings Anywhere
This update gives Settings the freedom of any Mac window, sharpens the Now Playing controls for music on the web, and makes Echo lighter than ever while you listen.
- Drag Settings anywhere. Settings now moves wherever you drag it, from its sidebar or its top edge, and steps behind other windows the way any Mac window does, so granting a permission in System Settings stays clear and easy.
- Play and pause, spot on. The play, pause, next and previous buttons on the Now Playing card now reach YouTube Music and other web players the way your keyboard's media keys do, so the page's own player handles every press. If a press on the card ever didn't reach a web player for you, this update resolves that.
- Lighter while you listen. Echo now does even less in the background while music plays, so it stays easy on your battery and out of your way through a whole day of listening.

Truer Now Playing
This update sharpens what Echo shows you and makes its one essential permission easy to grant whenever you want it.
- The right track, every time. On YouTube and YouTube Music, the song that follows an advert is now the one Echo shows on the card and keeps in your history, with its own artwork, length and place. If you ever saw an advert's name sitting where a track should be, this update resolves that.
- Automation permission, on your terms. Settings can now grant Echo permission to see Spotify and Apple Music at any moment, even with both closed. Echo takes care of the whole thing itself and tells you where it got to.
- An overlay that explains itself. An empty Echo now says which permission it is waiting on, with the button to grant it right there.
- A new About section. Settings now shows your Echo version and exactly how the browser extension reaches the app on your Mac.

Permission Made Obvious
This update makes Echo's first run clearer and puts you in charge of how it behaves on your Mac.
- Permission, made obvious. Echo now asks for the macOS permission it needs to see what Spotify and Apple Music are playing the moment it can, and Settings has a new Automation row so you can grant it yourself at any time. If Echo ever appeared empty for you, this update resolves that.
- Launch at login is your call. Echo now offers to open at login during the welcome, rather than assuming, and the choice lives in Settings under Startup.
- Clearer wording throughout. The pause action now says exactly what it does, and the prompt for hiding Spotify and Music explains each permission plainly.

Your Colour, Your Place
This update puts you in charge of two things: how Echo looks, and where you are in what you are watching.
- Choose any accent colour, right inside Echo. Pick from the spectrum, slide the hue, or paste a hex code straight in. Everything happens in one place, and your colour applies as you go.
- A calmer actions panel in dark mode. The actions panel now sits properly against Echo's dark surface, with a border and shadow tuned for it.
- Scrubbing goes exactly where you send it. Moving back to an earlier moment in a browser video now stays put, and Echo remembers that as your place. If you ever found yourself pulled forward again after going back, this update resolves that.

Consistent, Polished Details
This update refines Echo's look and a couple of small details.
- A consistent accent everywhere. Echo's panel border now always matches your chosen accent colour, in both light and dark, instead of occasionally picking up the album's colour.
- The minimalist scrollbar throughout. The Settings panel now uses Echo's own slim scrollbar, matching the rest of the app.
- An accurate now-playing position. The now-playing card always shows your true position. If you ever saw it flash to the start for a moment when you pressed play, this resolves that, your place was always kept.
