High CPU Usage in version 1.0.51

BugCompleted
Aug 17

After updating to the latest version 1.0.51, the application is consuming high CPU usage. I've extracted the sample from the activity monitor; how can I send it to the support team for debug?

I've forwarded the sample to your email. Thanks.

Scriven, thanks for reporting this and getting us those details from the activity monitor. We're on it and will post an update here as soon as we have more information.

Scriven,

Thank you for the sample. It showed us exactly what was happening, and we would not have found it this quickly without it.

Shiny 1.0.52 is out now. It refines how the menu bar icon is drawn: Shiny now redraws it only when the reading has actually changed, rather than in response to every appearance update macOS sends. On some Macs those updates arrive far more often than others, and your sample was what showed us that.

Shiny checks for updates on its own, so 1.0.52 should reach you shortly. If anything still looks high, another sample taken at that moment would help us again.

Thanks again for writing in. Any other questions in the meantime, please just get back in touch and let us know.
